 Preparation time: 25 minutes
Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

For the stir-fry

  • 1 block of firm tofu, cut into cubes
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil (or other cooking oil)
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 carrot, cut into thin sticks
  • 1 small broccoli, cut into florets
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds (optional)
  • ApothicAri Fire Salt, to taste

For the sauce

  • 2 tablespoons of ApothicAri Fire Vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari)
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup (or honey)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons of water
  • 1 clove of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger

Preparation

  1. Prepare the sauce: in a bowl, whisk all the sauce ingredients together until smooth. Set aside.
  2. Cook the tofu: in a large skillet, brown the tofu cubes in oil until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  3. Sauté the vegetables: in the same pan, add a little oil if necessary and sauté the bell pepper, carrot, and broccoli for 4 to 5 minutes, until tender.
  4. Add the tofu and sauce: pour the sauce over the mixture and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes, until it thickens and coats the ingredients well.
  5. Serve hot, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.

Delicious served over rice or soba noodles!
