The Gardens of La Minga

At Les Jardins de la Minga, we care deeply about the environment and your health, which is why we offer high-quality organic vegetables grown with respect for nature, straight from our gardens to your plates.

History

In 2018, we spent several months in South America to deepen our knowledge of market gardening. It was during our trip that we were inspired by the word Minga, from the Andean Quechua language, which means "collective work." Upon our return in 2019, we embarked on the colossal project of developing a farm on fallow land in Baie-St-Paul in Charlevoix. Together with our family and friends, we created a nourishing environment where life is good: an organic vegetable farm capable of supplying the population of Charlevoix with fresh produce.

The environment at the heart of every decision

In the kitchen and in the fields, the environment is at the heart of every decision we make, starting with sourcing healthy, local products that are grown with respect for nature. At Les Jardins de la Minga, we strive to improve the environmental impact of our practices every year. We use organic and regenerative farming methods with minimal tillage, green manure rotations, electrically heated greenhouses, and the constant planting of trees and flowers that pollinators love.

Organic farming, a priority

As mentioned above, despiteApothicari's growth in recent years, it is essential for us that agriculture remains central. It is just as important to us that the ingredients come from our organic gardens or organic farms in Quebec as it is that Les Jardins de la Minga continues to supply fresh produce to the Charlevoix community.
