Ingredients

  • 1 cup red lentils
  • 1 tablespoon coconut or olive oil
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoonApothicAri Fire Spice
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 2 cups vegetable broth
  • 1 cup coconut milk (or more, to taste)
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro (for garnish)

 

Preparation

  1. Rinse the lentils in cold water and drain well.
  2. Sauté the onion in oil for a few minutes until tender. Add the garlic, ginger, Épice de Feu, turmeric, and cumin, then cook for 1 minute to release the aromas.
  3. Stir in the tomato paste and lentils, then pour in the vegetable broth. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, until the lentils are tender.
  4. Add the coconut milk and adjust the seasoning with Fire Salt.
  5. Serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro.

 

Tips
