When barbecue season is in full swing, sometimes it doesn't take much to turn a nice piece of meat into a real feast!

Our ApothicAri Fire Salt, a vibrant blend of sea salt and Fire Spice, adds an aromatic, complex, and perfectly balanced touch to your grilled dishes—without having to pull out your entire spice rack.

Inspired by our Fire Vinegar recipe, this unique salt contains organic spices such as ginger, turmeric, garlic, onion, chili pepper, and a blend of herbs from our gardens. It's the perfect way to spice up local meat, grilled vegetables, or even tofu in the blink of an eye.

 

Preparation time: 5 minutes
Yield: About 4 steaks

 

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons of ApothicAri Fire Salt
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional, for light caramelization)
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional, for a BBQ flavor)
  • A drizzle of olive oil (to rub on the meat after the rub)

 

Preparation

  1. In a small bowl, combine the Fire Salt, brown sugar, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Dry the steaks with paper towels.
  3. Rub the spice mixture generously on both sides of the meat.
  4. Leave to rest at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
  5. Just before cooking, drizzle a little olive oil over each steak.
  6. Grill on the BBQ to taste—rare, medium, or well done.
  7. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.

 

Tip: This rub is also delicious on lamb chops, grilled vegetables, or sliced firm tofu!
